After much delay from Turbine and their lawsuit, DDO is now available, and it’s free to play!
The game has come a long way, including a lot of ups and downs. We were able to play it during the open beta, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although it’s been quite a bit of time since playing, it looks to be really polished, and as we remembered it, quite fun.
Coming from wiki
Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (abbreviated as “DDO“) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Turbine, Inc. Turbine developed DDO as an online adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons (abbreviated as D&D) based loosely on the D&D 3.5 Ruleset. It is set in the Eberron campaign setting. Internet access is required to play.
On June 9 2009, ddonline.com announced that Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach will be free to play (f2p) for all in US but will not be f2p in Europe. The name will be changed to Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited. The level cap will be increased to level 20 and Free users will have access to the majority of game content; some features will have to be purchased with turbine points. As for new subscribers or old subscribed players, there will be VIP access that contains additional all-new features available for them as well as free turbine points. Closed beta registration opened on June 9 2009 and the game and contents will be free to download on September 1 for VIP members and September 9 for the general North American public.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed an ad on RezPLS for the game Tanoth, so I decided to give it a look, and see what it was all about. To my surprise, I have found myself regularly logging in to play the game and putting about an hour or two worth of game play into it each day. I’m not quite sure why the game has allured me so well, but I shall give you some details of the game.
What is Tanoth?
Tanoth Online is a free web based mmorpg by GameForge Inc. GameForge, as wiki states was “established in Karlsruhe, Germany in December 2003 by Klaas Kersting and Alexander Roesner”. GameForge is the company behind such games as: 4Story, Ikariam, OGame, Bitefight, and helped published the PC game Saga of Ryzom. Now GameForge has introduced their new game, Tanoth, to the English audience.

Remember that little ol’ game Dungeons and Dragons Online? Well it seems that Atari and Turbine has hit a sour note with one another and are now going to court over breach of liscencing agreements. Atari failed at helping Turbine launch DDO in North American back in 2006, since you probably didn’t hear about it nor cared for it, hence why it’s basically dead and now going to the free platform.
Turbine is planning on suing Atari for a cool 30 million woolongs, maybe they could take some of that money and revive DDO? Probably not, but it’s wishful thinking right? Check out the rest of the story over HERE
